Delray Beach Children’s Garden: Nurturing Eco-consciousness

Shelly Zacks was ready to retire and take it easy.  Then she read Last Child in the Woods: Saving Our Children From Nature-Deficit Disorder by Richard Louv.  With dedication and a community that galvanized around her vision, the Delray Beach Children’s Garden came into being.  Today it stands as a garden, a laboratory, and a playscape where children can go to reconnect with nature and rekindle that innate sense of adventure and discovery that comes with being a child in the natural outdoors.

For the past 5 years, Mario has been working together with his wife Gwen to produce various video projects, commercials and media works and has added video editor and photographer to his portfolio.

Gwen Garrett has been creating & modifying gorgeous images for over 15 years.  She’s photographed people from all walks of life: miners, musicians, mothers.  Her compassionate eye is as evident in her work as her subjects.  Gwen’s images have appeared in travel magazines & catalogs and her videography has helped sell both individual products & million dollar companies.
